Revelation 3:5, I have asked others and prayed about this verse for a few years now. What does Jesus mean in this verse?
Rev. 3:5. This white raiment is found upon the bride of Christ at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb: Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints (Revelation 19:7, 8). In addition, those who possess a genuine salvation experience will remain in the book of life eternally. What security! Christ says, I will not blot out his name . . . before my Father, and before his angels.
I love thinking about Revelation. I did a study last summer on the book and just finished a study on Daniel. It has really helped me understand the whole Bible knowing about what happens at the end. This verse became true for me:Revelation 1:3 "Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near."
I mention this because I like what you have shared and want to build on it. We (the church) are dressed in white as Rev. 3:5 says. White is the symbol of purity. As a church we have to "make ourselves ready" as the Bible states. What is our job as the church? Among a lot of jobs one is to keep the Gospel of Jesus alive in the church.
Paul and Jude both warn about false gospels.Galatians 1:6-7 "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ." and Jude 1:4 "For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord."
The church must keep focusing on the Biblical Truth and not settle for anything less or the church will not be clothed in "white" at the marriage supper to the Lamb. I for one plan to be wearing white on that day and I hope you are too:)

I know that the body of Christ is his church, And any one that knows me surely knows of Jesus Christ by the way I live. In that day I also will be wearing white. Keep up sharing the Lord with me Sheila God Bless you.

Marshall,
Glad to hear that those who know you know that you are living the Gospel. That's exactly how it should be. Many folks hear the word of God and never apply it in their life. It is not enough to know something, you must live it. Glad to hear Jesus is getting a white suit ready for you too :) And thanks for your kind words.
Sheila
